Sennsis supply Sennheiser Tour Guide and Portable Infra Red Simultaneous Interpretation System

Trosol already owned and used VHF Sennheiser Tourguide and infra-red systems, but wanted to expand their stock of translation equipment. They purchased a 30-way Infoport Tourguide system including a microphone, charger and 30 headsets, and a SENNSIS-320W portable infra-red system with built-in radio microphone. 120 infra-red receivers with charging racks were also supplied.

The SENNSIS-320W is built by Sound Induction Systems and covers 320 sq.m (hence the name). “After a number of enquiries from translators across Wales we realised there was a gap in the market for a easy to use, wireless, portable infra-red system”, explains Phil Nicholes of Sound Induction Systems. “We modify the system so the radio microphone receiver is powered from the radiators. This way the whole system is fed from just one power supply, eliminating the need for batteries and allowing the system to be ready within seconds of the translator arriving at the venue. It also allows the translator the freedom of movement to sit where they want, not feeling conspicuous at the front of the room”.

The experience of selling and creating modified Sennheiser infra-red and Tourguide systems has resulted in Sound Induction Systems launching their own brand, Sennsis.

"Anything to do with infra-red or translation equipment we'll now be marketing as Sennsis," explains Nicholes. "We've become well known in Wales for providing Sennheiser systems so from now on everything with Sennheiser radio mic, translation equipment, infra-red or Tourguides that we work with or modify or send out as a kit, is going out as Sennsis."
