Another day, another conference. Set up tables and chairs wherever you need them. Bring in the new WiCOS Wireless Conference System and you’re almost done.
Faster set-up Within minutes your staff can equip all seats with personal conference units that automatically connect to the wireless RF link. Forget about cable trip hazards, changes to the furniture, or configuration. This saves valuable time and has no impact on the room making the system ideal for historic buildings.
Maximum reliability Once the meeting is underway, you can relax. The battery packs will last even through a prolonged twenty-hour conference day. The automatic RF control ensures pristine audio quality, no matter how many adjoining conferences or other RF sources go on the air. In case of any interference, the system switches inaudibly to a free frequency. No other system does this automatically, and no other uses both the 2,4 and 5 GHz bands for extra reliability.

High safety WiCOS has high level encryption as standard. This means that your conference is safe from unauthorised listeners. In addition you can run up to 25 WiCOS systems in different rooms in the same building without any fear of interference from one to another.
Full flexibility Making WiCOS work requires next to no planning and little advance knowledge of the conference layout. You can adapt to changes anytime before or during the conference: Simply add extra units on request. Shift the chairman’s station to another seat. Connect to external presentation and interpretation modules. Your guests will be surprised, but you won’t. |

WiCOS D wireless delegate unit One look is enough to classify the user friendly WiCOS D wireless delegate unit as a premium piece of audio equipment that will add special value to your service.
Sennheiser has designed this elegant conference unit with utmost simplicity for the participants in mind. There is nothing that isn’t clear at the first glance or touch. Inside, of course, it’s filled with high-tech features to guarantee maximum system functionality and quality of acoustic distribution.
Each unit holds its own high-performance battery pack with an operating time of 20+ hours. Both the removable gooseneck microphone and the built-in audio speaker have been specially constructed to make sure that every contribution will reach the ear with clean, direct fidelity, always at a comfortable volume.
Nearly every feature of the delegate unit is fully automatic, except for the prominent mic / request key that participants press to receive permission to speak. Once permission is granted and the microphone goes live, indicated by a LED signal ring, the built-in speaker automatically mutes to prevent feedback noise.
Participants can connect two headphones or neck worn induction loops (if a hearing aid wearer) for individual volume adjustment. |

WiCOS C wireless chairman unit The WiCOS C wireless chairman unit offers all the features of the standard delegate unit along with a number of extra conference management functions.
The NEXT key provides request list control. It gives permission to speak, and the according live microphone status, to the next person in the request line.
The MIC key allows the chairman to speak at any time. If required, the PRIORITY key mutes or cancels all other open microphones allowing the chair to control any meeting.
Two further function keys can be programmed with various additional management functions, for instance to control the audio level. |
|
Other delegate and chairman units are available as special WiCOS DV (left) / WiCOS CV (not shown) versions with voting and channel selection functions.
These special units feature three additional voting keys for all decision-making processes. The three keys represent the voting values YES, ABSTENTION, and NO.
Two channel selector keys on these model versions assist in the selection of the right language channel, if interpreter services are required. |
|
WiCOS AP wireless access point To complement the conference units, all you need is the WiCOS AP, a small stand-alone access point that establishes the wireless RF link.
The WiCOS AP operates on the basis of the WLAN protocols 802.11 a / g, enhanced with further security layers to provide maximum protection from interference. In contrast, all conventional systems require a central unit that needs to be configured. |
|
Advanced set-up and configuration In cases of special operation requirements, the WiCOS AP can be connected for configuration to the PC Ethernet. A password-secured advanced set-up menu then opens in a standard internet browser window, featuring the complete system configuration.
With the “RF Configuration” menu it is possible to adjust RF settings and interference protection to special conditions. The “Conference Management” menu serves to customise settings for various conference types, from the permitted number of open microphones to special options for the chairman to handle requests. Additional menus offer custom options for encryption settings and more.
The WiCOS AP can also be connected to the central unit of a wired Sennheiser SDC 8200 conference system (see below), for instance, to integrate channels from up to 16 languages or to run in slave mode as part of a larger conference network. |
|
You’re all set Getting started with the WiCOS Wireless Conference System only takes five easy steps. Step 1 Charge battery packs with DC adaptors. LED signals indicate charging progress and battery capacity status. Step 2 Equip delegate / chairman units with battery packs. Step 3 Connect microphones to delegate / chairman units. Step 4 Now place the WiCOS AP unit as high as possible in the conference room (mount on tripod stand or ceiling / wall), connect to power supply and switch on. Step 5 Place delegate / chairman units and switch on. They will automatically initialize and connect to the AP in about 8 seconds. You’re ready to go-its as simple as that!

Pack ‘n’ Go Use the WiCOS Case to comfortably transport the system to any meeting location, anywhere, anytime.
The compartments hold up to 12 wireless conference units, gooseneck microphones, access point and accessories, making transport easy which saves even more of your time and money. The case is equipped with heavy-duty rubber wheels and a telescopic handle for long walking distance transportation.

Go hybrid for extra options
Connect the WiCOS Wireless Conference System’s AP unit to the wired Sennheiser SDC 8200 Conference System to enter into hybrid mode for a world of advanced functional options.
For multi-language conferences, up to 16 interpretation channels, supplied by the SDC 8200 system, can be assigned to WiCOS DV / CV delegate / chairman units.
For presentations, the comments from wireless microphones and other audio input signals can be connected to the WiCOS system via XLR interfaces provided in the SDC 8200 system. To broadcast contributions from the WiCOS conference to a live or virtual audience, the SDC 8200 central unit provides an audio output to record a meeting or feed a sound system.
Special voting operations can be done in hybrid mode using the SDC 8200 SYS PC software that is part of the SDC 8200 system.
For most of these advanced applications, the WiCOS AP access point, connected to the SDC 8200’s central unit, will run in slave mode, and configurations is done via the SDC 8200’s PC control software. |
